Gwendolyn Webber-McLeod, MS, is a leadership development consultant with a passion for supporting leaders in effectively leading and managing organizations. Her clients are established and emerging leaders in public, private, educational organizations and businesses. She has developed the following areas of expertise:

She gained this expertise at Potsdam State University, graduating cum laude in 1978, (BA Psychology); and through past positions as an owner/partner in Treble Associates, a women-owned, Auburn-based consulting firm, along with other professional positions.

Gwen was the Director of Communications at Wells College, Aurora, NY, where she managed internal/ external communications and developed partnership strategies to link Wells with institutions that advance the goal of educating women for leadership. Working with the college president, she developed the model for the President's Council on Diversity, setting the stage to create a strategic framework for valuing diversity.

She has been communications/development director of the Seven Lakes Girl Scout Council, executive director of the National Women's Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls, executive director of the Booker T. Washington Community Center in Auburn, and coordinator of human services for the Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency.

An advocate in the public arena for the positive development of girls and women, she has received many awards and honors, including the Unsung Heroine Award, presented by the Central New York N.O.W. Chapter and the New York State Governor's Award for African-Americans of Distinction.

Gwen has also received the Marjorie Dowdell Fortitude Award, presented to outstanding African-American women by the Syracuse Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Potsdam College added her name to the State University of New York Confederation Honor Roll, The Seven Lakes Girl Scout Council Woman of Excellence Award and the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce Board Chairs Award.

In June of 2004, Gwen received the New York State Senate Woman of Distinction Award from Senator Michael Nozzolio. Her mother, the Honorable Barbara N. Webber, retired Jefferson County, New York legislator, also received this award, making them the first mother and daughter ever to receive the Woman of Distinction honor in the same year.

Gwen has a very active civic life and takes great pride in serving on boards of directors that enhance and improve the lives of people at the local, state, and national level. Gwen is actively involved in the following organizations:

  • Planned Parenthood of the Rochester and Syracuse Region
  • The Central New York Women's Fund
  • National Co-chair of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America's Social Marketing Advisory Resource Team.
  • Consultant/ Coach for Pathfinders CTS Authentic Leadership for Women Program
  • Community Health Fellows Leadership Project, Central New York Team Advisor. A program sponsored by the Community Health Foundation of Western and Central New York

Known as a strong leader and communicator, Gwen has served as:

  • Past Board Chair, Planned Parenthood of the Rochester/Syracuse Region
  • Past Board Chair and Interim CEO of the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce, where she led efforts to refocus and reenergize the work and reputation of the Chamber in the community
  • Founding Board Member, Friends of Woman's Rights National Park
  • Formerly: Trustee of Cayuga Community College; Member of Cayuga Community College Foundation Board of Directors; WCNY Public Television Board of Directors, The Central New York Business Council First Niagara Bank

Gwen's MS in Management from Keuka College increased her knowledge in leadership development for emerging and established leaders. She uses this knowledge to fuel her passion for supporting individual leaders and their teams in becoming calm, effective, and inspired leaders.

Gwen resides in Auburn, New York with her husband Tracy and their three children Andrew, Ashley and Travis. She enjoys fitness, fine arts dance, and inspiring people to lead calm and successful personal and professional lives. She attributes her success to her loving family, serving her community, and to working daily just to be an all around good person.
